Frequently asked questions

Do you have a question?

Below are the answers to questions we're often asked. Can't find your question? Feel free to send us a message.

What time can we check in?

We do our utmost to have the accommodations ready by 4:00 pm. You're of course welcome to arrive at the glamping site earlier and, for example, cool off in the swimming pool, but we can't yet guarantee the accommodation or bathroom will be ready at that point. On the day of departure, you leave the accommodation before 9:00 am.

When is Glamping Place de la Famille open?

The safari tents can be booked in July and August. Both gîtes are available to book all year round, including for a get-away with friends or family outside the season.

Is bed linen provided?

Absolutely: bed linen is included and the beds are made up on arrival, including the cot.

Can I reserve towels?

Yes. We offer a package per person with a large towel, a medium-sized towel and a flannel. If you've booked it, it will be ready for you on arrival.

Which coffee machine is in the accommodation?

The Safarilodge Standard and Comfort have a cafetière. The Safarilodge Prestige has a Philips L'Or Barista machine for small and large Nespresso cups, and the gîtes have a Nespresso machine.

Can we bring our pet?

Pets are not allowed in the safari tents. At Gîte La Mauratie, one pet may be brought by arrangement, outside July and August. Always keep the dog on a lead on the site and walk it outside the site.

Is there wifi?

Yes, Wi-Fi is available free of charge across the whole site in principle. Gîte La Mauratie has its own Wi-Fi network.

May the car be parked at the accommodation?

No, our site is car-free. You park in the car park at the entrance; hand carts are ready there to take your luggage to your accommodation.

How does payment work during your stay?

The extras on-site, such as dinners and the laundry service, are set up at your accommodation during your stay. At the end of your stay, you settle the bill at reception, by card or in cash.

Is there a sandwich service?

Yes, in July and August you can order bread from us. You can collect your order from the reception desk from 8 a.m. onwards, except on Mondays.

May we use our own barbecue?

Due to the often dry summers, barbecuing yourself is not permitted. In July and August, we organise a BBQ on the Place every Saturday. At Gîte La Mauratie, there is a gas barbecue available for use near the house.

When is the swimming pool open?

We open the swimming pool at the beginning of May and close it in October. During that period, it is heated and open for as long as the weather permits, from around 9am after cleaning until around 10pm.

Can we do our laundry?

Yes, we offer a laundry service. You hand in your laundry with instructions at reception; we wash it and, if needed, hang it on the line.

Can I charge my car?

Yes. There's a charging point with a double connection in the car park. We charge for the electricity per kilowatt-hour on a separate receipt.

Can a small tent of our own be added?

By arrangement, a small tent may be added, provided the user stays within the permitted number of guests for the booked accommodation. We are not a campsite with pitches.

Are tight-fitting swimming trunks compulsory?

Not with us. At all public swimming pools and water parks in France, tight-fitting swimming trunks are compulsory, so bring a pair along if you'd like to visit a water park.

Are there walking and cycling routes nearby?

Yes. Several walking routes set off from the glamping, including our own geocaching route via the Geocaching app and the blue route with a quiz booklet. You can cycle from the site along the ATB routes, and with the whole family along the Voie Verte, the old railway line between Sarlat and Souillac.
